Fished Timber for the first time Tue. We spent the night in Sulfer Springs and got to the Lake early. Only one problem. I forgot the Gate code. No cell phone service out there so back to town. Brian got the land owner to met us and we got on the lake at 10:30. I tried to blame Brian but it was my fault. My fishing buddy was not to happy. Fished till 2, had lunch and fished till dark. Over all about 45 fish with a 4.5 the big one. Lots of solid 2 to 2/12. 5 dinks. This is going to be a good one in a couple of years. Fire tiger crank bait was the winner along with Lizzards in the trees. Land owner was great. Thanks…

Sorry, about forgetting the combination. I too, forgot the combination about 8 years ago and San Saba and had to call the previous owner at 7:30 on a Saturday night. I hated to do it, but I had to. It happens.
45 fish in a half day of fishing in August is a heck of a day. There are some 6 lb fish in there and these 6 lb female fish will be 7 to 7.5 this Spring. I think this lake will be in the top 5 lakes in the club in another year. I beleive it is already a top 10 lake. With the amount of management that is going into this lake, its beauty, and its abundance of deep water this lake is poised to give any lake in the club a run for its money.
