Sash - Fannin Farms
Description:
This 12 acre lake sits only a few miles south of the Red River, in far north Fannin County. It is secluded from the big city as it sits nestled among the surrounding oaks, elms, and red cedars.
The lake has depths to 15 feet. The blue gill are fed with a fish feeder keeping them fat and healthy for our bass. In 2010 an 11 lb and a 10lb bass were caught.
Bank fishing is accessible for more than 50% of the lake. There are 3 boats for our members to use. 2 jon boats and a "buster type" boat. You will need a trolling motor and battery.
There is a great restaurant called House Sisters only a few miles away at the intersection of 100 and 2216 that is open 3 meals a day, 7 days a week. Great homemade cooking and cheap prices.
History of Fannin Farms:
Constructed in the mid 1970's as a catfish farm by Roy McMillian, one of baseballs best shortstops in the 1950's with the Cincinnati Red and then later a New York Mets manager following Yogi Berra. A Bonham, TX native with the skills that equal other superb shortstops of the era such as Ernie Banks and Pee Wee Reese. In his 16 seasons he had a .243 lifetime batting average but his fielding was eye-popping and was considered by many "as fine of shortstop ever seen--any time, anywhere".
There is a great small cabin, decorated with a very tasteful rustic cabin flare. There are two sets of bunk beds in the cabins one bedroom and one bath configuration. Microwave, full size refrigerator, oven, stove and all utensils, pots, pans, and dishes are included. There is a large porch overlooking the lake and outdoor grill for your convenience. You will need to bring your own linens and pillows. Cabin sleeps 6 people.

110 miles NE of downtown Dallas. 30 miles NE of Bonham.

2 Anglers more if in the same group.
Requirements
It is mandatory to remove all bass 14" and under at this site. You must also report your harvest totals back to the club office or online through the reservation system.

Lodging is a $75 for two people. Each additional person is $15.
