Canton - Kickapoo Lake
Description:
Kickapoo Lake is a 12-acre soil conservation lake that was built in the 50's. It has depths up to 15 feet with some structure and good vegetation. There is a large amount of bluegill providing forage for the bass. This lake maybe best fished in the spring, fall and winter as coontail moss becomes an issue in the summer.
The lake record bass is 10.5 lbs.
Bank fishing is available, but a small two-man boat is ideal. There is a dirt launch area to back small boats in the water.
No club boat is available on site.
Directions:
App. 1 hour and 15 minutes (70 miles) east of Dallas. 10 miles South of Canton.
Parking
Park in designated area on the southwest side of the lake. Close gate behind you.
Angler Limit
One group or two individuals.
Requirements
It is mandatory to remove all bass 14" and under at this site. You must also report the total # of fish removed back to the club office.
Hazards
When launching from Spillway area, be careful of soft ground.
