Crockett - Melody Acres
Description:
This beautiful 12-acre lake is set in the Piney Woods of East Texas and is a favorite to those who have been there. Its owner is one of the most hospitable landowners the club has to offer. Forage fish have been added almost every year, including tilapia and coppernose blue gill.
The largest bass to date is a 10.5 lb fish caught in 2010. The lake has good structure and good bank fishing. Outside boats are allowed and there is a flat bottom jon boat in the boathouse for members to use.
Lodging is some of the best in the club with this wonderful 2 bedroom two bath home. The home also has a fabulous, huge screened in porch that is a perfect place to relax after a day of fishing.
Directions:
About 10 miles North of Crockett. App. 2 hours and 45 minutes (165 miles) south of Dallas. App. 2 hours (125 miles) north of Houston.
Parking
Enter the property and the road will take you by the lodge, which is the first house you come to. If you are just fishing, drive down to the second house, park in front and walk down to the lake. The boat will be down by the water.
Angler Limit
Two individuals, more allowed if in one group.
Requirements
Members must provide their own trolling motor and battery.
Keep any bass under 14"! You must report the # and approximate weight of all fish kept to the club office after your outing.
You may also keep up to 5 Crappie per outing.

$100 for 2 people / $15 for each additional person/ $100 minimum
Enjoy a quiet evening on the large screened in porch above the lake while cooking steaks or burgers on the charcoal BBQ grill.
This warm and roomy country lodge has 2 bedrooms with two queen sized beds in each and a queen size hideaway in the living room. Two full bathrooms. Maximum occupancy is 10 people. Members will enjoy a full kitchen, microwave and coffee maker. Bed linens and towels are supplied. There is no TV, but you will find books and magazines to enjoy while you relax.
The landowner is absolutely charming and will most likely stop to say hello during your stay. No smoking and no pets.
