Athens - Northeast Lake
Description:
Athens: Northeast Lake is an exemplary representation of the great Athens waters. This 10 acre tank is fifteen-feet-deep with good water clarity and structure throughout. This scenic lake sits among typical East Texas trees, which provide cover around its edges. There is also some limited bank fishing from the shore.
This lake has been stocked with both florida and native bass as well as blue gill and consistently produces lots of bass in the 2 to 2.5 lb size class.
Northeast Lake is also a great family site with it's A-frame cabin for rent, bank or boat fishing and plenty of shade trees to relax and enjoy the beautiful East Texas country.
Directions:
This site is located an hour and 45 minutes east of Dallas and 45 minutes from Tyler.
Parking
On the south side of the lake where the road dead ends into the lake.
Angler Limit
Four people, two boats or a larger group with prior approval.
Requirements
No night fishing. No pets.
1 week notice is required to access the lodging. 2 night or $300 minimum to lodge.
When lodging, please take all trash accumulated during your stay with you when you leave.
Hazards
Be aware of snakes.
Bank fishing is limited during summer months.
Do not use the canoe.

$150 a family per night, $300 minimum per weekend
You can take the whole crew to Athens Northeast Lake with its 1700 square foot, 4 bedroom, 2 and a half bath lodge. The lodge provides 1 King sized bed, 1 full and 4 twins, a fireplace, tv, full kitchen (w/microwave) and central heat and air.
While you enjoy a nice view of the lake you can grill a few steaks on the bbq grill (equipped for gas but charcoal can be used).
Northeast Lake does not allow pets or smoking (inside the lodge). Members must provide their own linens and towels. Please take all trash accumulated during your stay with you when you leave.
