La Grange - Rock Chimney
Description:
This 19-acre lake on Rock Chimney Ranch is a club favorite for both our Houston and Austin members. It is difficult to find a private lake that is as naturally fertile and has the good balance of forage fish and bass that this site possesses.
Stocked with a mixture of Florida and native bass, this lake has produced fish in the 9 pound range, and more than likely has some double digits.
Small boats can be launched off the bank. Bank fishing is also good.
Directions:
App. 100 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes from Downtown Houston. App. 80 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes from downtown Austin. Half way between Austin and Houston just northwest of Columbus.
Parking
To launch a small boat, enter the gate on your left just past the first cattle guard.
Angler Limit
Three anglers, more allowed if in one group.
Requirements
Use barbless hooks except on treble hooks.
Some roads are impassible after a rain.
