Glen Rose - Rough Creek Lodge

After a 3 year absence from the club we are pleased to have Rough Creek Lodge back in the fold. Rough Creek Lodge is the premier facility for business executives or leisure travelers. The resort sits on 11,000 beautiful acres with 39 guest rooms and suites that offer the finest accommodations and amenities including a restaurant. (PWF members receive discounts on lodging and dining except on Holidays). If you are just looking to fish for the day, Mallard Lake is about 80 acres and full of fish. Quantity and quality should be expected. Summer 2010 reports have been excellent with trips reporting more than five 4-7 lb fish caught in a day of fishing and a total catch of 40+ fish. You may launch large fiberglass boats. Bank fishing is good. You must check in at the Beretta room or front desk before fishing. Directions:

App. 12 miles west of Glen Rose. App. 1 1/2 hours (90 miles) Southwest of downtown Dallas. App. 1 hour (65 miles) Southwest of downtown Fort Worth.

Parking

Drive past the lake to the lodge and check in at either the Beretta Room (south side of the parking lot) or check in at the front desk. You will sign in and then be directed to the launch area.

Requirements

You must sign the fishing agreement in the Beretta Room (open at 8:30 a.m.) or at the front desk (before 8:30 a.m.) before you fish. Take your reservation number with you when you check in. Fishing allowed at Mallard Lake (80 acres) only.

Due to TABC rules, as this is a resort property, PWF members are not allowed to bring alcohol of any kind on the Rough Creek premises.
