Location Map
Ellington - Tree Farm
Description:
Tree Farm is a nursery holding two large lakes. Lake Hope is about 90 acres and South Lake is about 25 acres. These lakes are spring fed gravel pits that were built in the 1970's and have been stocked with bass for years.
Since 1999 the new landowner has been very active in management and has added coppernose bluegill, threadfin shad and fathead minnows. The largest fish reported is 10 pounds. In the fall of 2011 there were two 10 lb fish caught.
Both lakes have water up to 35 feet deep with plenty of humps and shallow flats. It may appear to have little structure, but don't let the above water appearance fool you. There are willow and christmas trees throughout the lake creating good cover.
Bank fishing is good, but you might want a boat to get to certain areas of the lakes. Large boats can be launched from the concrete boat ramp and you may use the aluminum jon boats on the banks.
