Ben Wheeler - Twin Lakes
Description:
There are two 17 acre lakes on this gorgeous east Texas, tree lined property. You may fish either lake during your trip. Both lakes have the hallmark east Texas tea colored water.
East Lake was built in 1983, has a small pier and water depth up to 11 feet near the dam. There is a creek channel and submerged timber that line the creek in the center of the lake. You can bank fish approx half of the lake, but is best fished from a boat. In 2009, the lake record of 11 lbs was caught.
West Lake was built in 1986 and is similar in size. This lake is surrounded by trees on the south and west side of the lake, protecting it from the predominant SW winds. Most of the lake is 5-9 feet deep with water depth up to 14 feet. In 2007 a 13 lb bass was caught from this lake. Again, about 50% of the lake can be fished from the bank, but best fished from a boat.
Fishing is about equal on both in size and quantity of fish in either lake. With almost 35 acres of water, its sheer beauty and great fishing, this is a real gem for the Club.
** There are several boats that are available for members. The v-hull bottom boats will have a PWF sticker on the side. The other boats on site are also available to our members but, the landowner may need to use them from time to time. We ask that you yield usage to the landowner if needed. There are several small ponds on the property that were originally built for raising catfish. You may not fish any of these lakes, only fish the 2 large bass lakes**

Requirements
EAST LAKE ONLY: Please harvest all bass 14" and under at the east lake and submit a harvest report back to the club office.
DO NOT REMOVE ANY FISH FROM THE WEST LAKE.
