I fished here again PM on Sunday May 20 . No wind, warm day. Fished from the bank , there is a boat available..I fished part of the big pond only, maybe half way around. The lake is still full down about 6 inches and clearer than the first time I was here.  This was actually my best day ever, even better than the first time. I caugth 23 that I landed, no dinks. Several would go 3 or 4 pounds. I will de-liar myself next time here with digital scale. 9 on top water with a white buzz bait starting at about 7:30pm and the rest on zoom plum worms 6” straight and curly tail during the heat of the afternoon. Get this, I caught 2 bluegill/perch hand sized on on a 6 inch zoom worm with a 5/0 hook.  Even they fight hard. I probably had 10 bass throw the worm at me or I did not set the hook good on the topwater. One flew out of the water (yes bass can fly) and completely missed the buzz bait. It was a good try but a miss. Fantastic property, the fish fight twice as big as they really are and they are all healthy nice fish.

Great posting Roy. Your enthusiasm for Post Oak comes thru loud and clear. How much of the lake is now matted coontail moss?(which I like fishing) Being on the water at 6am would be like fishing in Bass Heaven. I need to book a trip soon. It’s worth the extra drive.

Russell the lake is pretty clear of any moss or vegatation, I believe it is maintained by large grass carp. One of the coves i fished in across from the boat launch has some cover in in and there is cover down the dam. I would love to fish it very am but am not a morning person. Someday my wife and I plan to go over and stay at the cabin and then i will get my am chance. I would bet it is topwater heaven very am in the morning
