Members Brad Ogle and Bryan Durrett fished all day. We took a 3 hour break in the middle of the day due to the extreme heat. We landed about 12 fish. Only three were under 14 inches which we harvested and we missed at least two good fish. All fish were caught on plastic baits. Our largest fish was around 3 pounds. I lost a solid four pounder plus at the boat which came from deep water, but had plenty of fun getting the fish there on my small spinning rod.

The lake is in good shape with 5 foot visibility. Only 1 foot below the drain pipe. There appears to be an abundance of bait fish. This is my favorite club lake. I believe it fishes much better in the spring or fall. This lake can produce large fish and typically the fish are in the 2 pound average size. It’s a solid 4 hour plus drive from Dallas or longer in Friday afternoon traffic. Don’t bring a car here, the dirt roads are pretty rough getting to the property and about 5 miles in length.

Looking forward to Hat and Star Ranch next , weather permitting…. Thanks for the intell on the trip there.

Keep your lines tight my friends.
