Fingerling
Left the clouds and wind of Dallas for the clear calm skies of Canton’s Kickapoo. The lake was glass as I launched @ 7:30 and fished a spinner bait along the shore out to about 5ft of water. Nada, nothing, not a swril for what seemed hours but was @ 20 mins. A breeze came up and I moved to 8 ft of water and deeper with a med-diving crank and there they were right in the middle of the lake, suspended and in a loose school. Harvested 21 and released a slab crappie, a fish that went 18+ inches and two brim. I have never seen that pattern before a Kickapoo but I’ll take it. Moved back towards shore to try a worm and caught two then it all cooled and I got hot and was on the road to Dallas by 11:30. Fun morning.
