Close to the best fishing day I have ever had. Water temp started at 58 and ended the day at 66. Water clarity was 4-6 feet. The lake is 3-5 feet low I think, which put the shallow end of the lake at 2 foot in most places. No signs of spawnings or beds yet. These fish are very active, have great color, and jump and fight like crazy. We started off in the morning getting bass in 4-6 feet of water on Ozark rigs, spooks, and spinnerbaits. When that bite died off, lipless picked up around grass edges. The lipless prooved to be the winner with around half our catches. I have never had so many consistant catches over 5lbs. This lake is producing a great number of quality fish. We had not a single dink or crappie. It is intersting that we did not see any shad on our monitors or the surface. Also saw no bluegill. But, there is lots of grass in the shallow areas for bait to hide in. It is a bit of a trip to get to Toby but truly worth it. Note, road in is pretty rutted and just a path through the field in places, may need some daylight to help you get to the lake.
