My son and I fished Toby Lake on April 7. Water temperature was 68°, clarity was 18 inches, the upper creeks were muddy. We fished the damn area hard and never got a strike. We tried all the fishing methods listed above and never got a strike. I switched to a Senko on an Ozark rig and caught a 5-13 on the third cast. Thanks to James Taylor who mentioned Ozark rigs in his post. I had never heard of the Ozark Rig, so I bought a few and watched a couple of videos. We ended up catching 8 up in the standing timber, all on Ozark rigs. My previous trip to Toby was my best all time PWF trip. This trip fell short but still a fun and enjoyable day.
