This was my third very slow day at Westin. I had the intel from a recent shocking of the lake and fished those places and the rest of the lake with several different lures (worms, flukes, crank baits) on a beautiful, calm day. I also hit all the brush piles with very little success. The boat ran great, and the property is very nice; however, all three experiences have been marginal.

Stan,
I hate slow days, sounds like you may want to try another DFW area lake? Weston, has produced the most big fish of all the DFW area lakes, but is not a numbers lake. An average 1/2 day of fishing at Weston is 5 to 10 fish with a 7 lb or better about every second or third trip. in 2013 I caught 2 fish over 8 lbs in 3 trips, each trip was about 2-3 hours of fishing I've also had 2 fish days at Weston. Timing is everything.
