We decided to upgrade our fishing and are now using what we would call top shelf lures.  We now throw Sprinker frogs, yellow magic poppers and whopper ploppers.  The Sprinker worked really well in a green color.  The other two saw limited playing time due to field conditions ( meaning we were throwing into grass) and exposed hooks.  Had a nice day except for the gale force winds. We had to use the anchor, luckily we had 100 feet of anchor rope to play with. Also tied up to standing timber.  Most fish in the 2 to 3 lb range and we caught 4 in the 4 pound range.  You know it is good fishing when you can throw top water all day long and catch fish.  The only problem today is my body and it feels yesterday.  Saw a monster coyote ( or a feral German Shepard), a big Tom strutting around the meadow for the girls, deer and numerous birds. There are plenty of places to get out of the wind on this lake.  Another great day and two hours door to door.
