Unexpectedly caught 6 healthy crappie on a sexy shad squarebill and chartreuse or white/gray Ned rigs in the shallow water opposite the dam. Picked up one healthy LMB tight to shore on a Ned Rig also among the timber. No luck near the marked brush piles (tough to find them all because the water was so high). Tried everything in the tackle box (swimbait, brush hog, beetle spin, lipless crank, and chatterbait) and wound up chasing crappie. They really turned on as dusk approached. We probably missed 6-8 others. All in all, a beautiful day on the water with fillets going home.
