Bill Morris and I caught 45 bass in the AM on a strong top-water bite (small torpedos, hula poppers) followed by swimbaits in about 10 feet of water.  Watermelon red was the color of choice.  Largest we caught was 4.4 pounds.The water is very clear, but again, it is difficult to launch and retrieve a jonboat.  NO DESIGNATED LAUNCH area,  so experience is necessary to launch a boat.  Algae covers about 1/3 of the lake, which is unfortunate.  That’s probably where the large fish are keeping cool in the shade and there is no way to get to them.  But, we’ll go back, probably in October or November.
