Any boats for sale?

Good morning, I am taking a shot at trying to find a used bass boat. My son is interested in joining the Pearce High School fishing team next year. One barrier we face is needing a boat for him to use. (also looking for a partner but that's another thread) Just wondering if anyone is thinking about selling a older but solid bass boat? Not wanting to invest a ton of money since it's just 2 years more of high school before he graduates. But if you are reading this and have something you think might fit the bill for me please let me know. Thank you. Roger Haynes

Hello Roger, when are you needing the boat and does the school have any requirements as far as min length and horsepower. I want to upgrade my 2013 Nitro Z8 that i fish tournaments with so it is tournament ready.

Ron, thanks for your reply. This boat would be for next school year. There aren't any specific boat/motor size requirements that I am aware of. I have been looking for a month or 2 at used boats and the cost of different models at different ages. Although I suspect your boat would be prefect for what we would be using it for I'm afraid I'm not able to spend what it would cost to buy your boat at the market value. Unless you are willing to take a significant loss on the sale. What I'm able to spend has me looking at late 90s and early 2000 models. Good luck in your next tournament and thank you very much. Hope to run into you at one day on the water!

totally understand Roger, boat prices have held up pretty good despite the Covid 19 pandemic and the unemployment rate. i first thought it might be a chance for me to get a newer boat cheap but boy was i wrong, Boat sales are strong for new and used so i have been reluctant to buy newer since there is nothing wrong with mine other than it is not a 4 stroke. i can live with that. Good luck to you and your son in your search. I think if you are patient you will find something in your budget that will work but dont go to cheap and get a money pit that will break down on the water and leave you or your son stranded on the water. been there and done that.

And please dont run into me on the water.  LOL

I'm at the same stage Roger with a freshman who has started a bass club at his school. The pandemic has created a sellers market's for boats (new and used).  As things get back to normal I suspect a flood of used boats will saturate the market with people who don't want to look at a boat in their garage that they don't use anymore.  I'm patiently waiting for this to happen.  Hopefully soon.

Haha! I thought when I wrote that line I was setting myself up for a comeback. I promise, I won’t.

To anyone else reading this thread, I have found a boat. Looking forward to this next adventure.

Chris, Good luck with boat hunting. I actually bought one this weekend. Search lasted a few months. But you are right on the money as far as the market goes. I found the one I bought on texasfishingforums.com. They have one forum that is called “Boats 4 Sale”. Best of luck and maybe we will be at the same tournament at some point in the future.
