My brother and son joined me for our annual trip to Cody Ranch, and stayed at the Lodge for two nights.  We fished Hart Lakes and China Lake, which are in different reports, but in this report I’ll just cover the lodge and the lake at the lodge.  The lodge is a wonderful place to stay, and particularly nice being so close to the nearby lodge lake, which is only fishable by those staying at the lodge.  We fished a few hours at the lodge lake, and for a small body of water has quite a few bass, and a good proportion of larger bass.  Our largest was 5 lbs, but we caught several 3 and 4 pounders, and culled 6.  I don’t know what the leafy weeds above the water in bunches are called, but wherever they were, you could expect to get a strike at the edge of them.  Most of the bigger bass were in the area right near the launch.  We caught all our fish on plastics, and tried topwater to no avail.
