My 7 year old son and I went out to Rough Creek and made it on the water just before the wind and rain picked up. We ended up only being able to stay on the water for about an hour before he was begging me to get back to the truck. The cold wind and rain proved to be too much for him. Another couple got out on the water for a few minutes just after us and quickly decided to get off the water due to the winds and rain. We managed to boat a couple bass, 1 being 18” and another 17.5”. Although we couldn’t stay long, the property is absolutely amazing and I will definitely plan another trip to get a good day of fishing in. The lake appeared to be full and has a tremendous amount of lilly pads, which I am certain holds tons of bass.

Billy, I thought that folks had to stay at Rough Creek Lodge in order to fish there.  Minimum well over $500 per person per night, a bit out of my price range.

Is my understanding correct?  I’d love to fish there, but hard to justify on my salary…

Frank,

You are welcome to fish there without lodging there. The price is only $150 a day for two people. There is a two person minimum. We have 3 or 4 members who fish this place once or twice a month. Wonder why?

This place is awesome!! There are lily pads as far as you can see. This property is a must fish. Bring some heavy line and flip the pads…....... awesome.
