Total Fish/Sizes : 12 up to 8.5 pounds. Several 3 pounders.
Lures Used : Sendos, Hollow Body Frogs, Trick worms
Dick Bufkin and I had a great trip to one of our favorite PWF lakes. We stayed in the trailer and it was very comfortable. Craig, the owner , was a great host and we are very grateful for the opportunity to fish on this beautiful ranch.
The fishing was slow and the weather was hot but not extremely so. Dick caught an 8.5 pound pig on a Senko and we had a ton of blow ups in the Lilly pads on frogs. Neither one of us got any of the frog fish to the boat. We need some practice dragging these strong fish thru the heavy cover.
All of the fish we caught were very strong and fat.
We can’t wait to fish there again soon.

Nice bass! I caught a 7.75# at Beaver in April from the semi-open water area. I too had trouble landing bass that hit a frog in the pads. I’m sure that the pads are much thicker now than back in April but even back then the stems were very helpful to bass trying to dislodge a hook. The Heartland 10-10 lakes are well-managed and grow strong, healthy bass.
