It doesn’t get any better than this. I had a feeling this would be a big bass day, and it was. Caught a 4 pounder on a Zara Spook topwater “walking the dog” at dawn then a 7-6 at 9AM on a shallow crank bait called a Baby 1 Minus. Caught a 15 incher also on the same lure. Wife caught and harvested a dink on a soft plastic.

Big fish were feeding in the shallows when we put in at dawn then they went lockjaw, almost. I guess we spooked them when launching, so next time I’ll fish from the bank some before launching.

Boat was excellent - comfortable, stable and dry. Foot controlled trolling motor worked great. Water was a little muddy from rain the day before. Lake had some grass and moss but not bad. Sun and a light breeze made for perfect weather.

I can’t wait to go back!
