Paul Giller and I had career days there yesterday.  The weather reports said:  Clear, winds 5 to 10, air temp. around 80 degrees.  Actuality was:  cloudy, winds 10 to 20 and around 73 degrees.
Surface temp. was 71 degrees.
From 12:45 pm until rain got us off the lake at 7:30 pm, we caught approximately 14 really nice bass, about 4 small bass and lost about 10 more.  Additiionally, we caught 3 12” crappie.

Paul caught most of his fish on a soft plastic frog or a lipless crank bait (like a Rattle Trap).  He used the frog parallel to the lily pads.  I caught most of my fish on:  lipless crank baits, Rapala-like lures and a Pop-R.  I caught 3 bass that measured 21”; my others were in the 15” to 17” range.  Paul caught 2 or 3 18” fish plus others in that smaller range.  Only about four fish were under 14”.
One great thing about the larger bass —they loved to jump out of the water trying to throw the hook.  Sometimes they were successful.

All in all, it was a great day on the water and probably would have been better with a little warmer temperature and a little less wind.  We did like the cloud cover.
