Knowing what late summer can be like decided to fish from Noon to Dusk anyway.   Grass was thick everywhere except for the open part of the lake.  Water was nice and clear despite the heavy rain the day before.  First 4 hours basically threw the tacke box with only 2 fish caught.  Took an hour break and then got back on the water at 5pm.  Switched to a white grub/jig head and immediately started getting results.  Caught a fat crappie at the dam.  The pattern seemed to be the fish hitting as lures fell off the weed line into deeper water.  Nothing seemed to match the white grub.
