John Kirby and I fished sun up to sun down.  Fishing was slow pretty much all day.  We ended with 13 fish, 1 under 12” that we harvested and 1 very nice 6lb female who looked like she was still on a bed? Her tail was all tore up and a little bloody.  Other than that she was very very healthy!

We used the flat bottom in the morning, mainly because there was a sharpie message on the vhull larger boat that said “I leak”. After lunch we decided to see how bad the leak was and after all afternoon we had minimal water in the boat, actually had more water in the flat bottom after our morning fish. This was my second trip as a new club member, I cant tell ya how awesome my experience has been so far!
Thanks!

Congratulations, Shaun, and welcome! What lures and presentations worked best for you? Any tips? I’ll be going there soon.

Larry:  We threw the whole tackle box at ‘em….but of the fish we caught most were on lipless crankbaits.  I caught one very late on a buzzbait.  “Bertha” (pictured) came late on a soft plastic crawfish pattern.  Good luck on your trip….it’s a beautiful spot.

Great! Thanks, Shaun. I’m looking forward to my trip. A 6 pounder would be fun!
