I and a buddy got to the east lake @ 8 am. chose a boat and loaded up. Worked the tree lined shore down the south (?) side where he caught three on a spinner bait before I got one to the boat. He picked up four more as I pre-released a couple.Reached the end of the lake and started back to the launch area when our battery died. Long story short—lost 2 hrs. of fishing time getting boat and a new battery back in fishing mode. Back on the water we caught a few more really dark brown (stained water) bass and harvested 4. Tired and ready to leave we made the effort to “see” the west lake. One hour later I had 1 fish to the boat and he “who shall be named” made one last “off handed cast” to the center of the lake. OMG!! He’s been to Salto in Mex. and caught 10’s, measured and weighed an 11.5 from lake leon, this fish dwarfed them all. How big? no way of knowing. Just OMG No eggs yet huge. So, out numbered and out weighed by you Dan Ellis! Took pics. and hope to post but they will in no way due justice to this fish! Great day on the water just watching.

We were the most ill prepared fishermen around. Thus the short version of a long story. NO nothing, just the two of us with our mouths open.
