Great first visit to Lake TCU, very productive outing. On the water 9:30am, air temp was low 30s with little wind and sunny clear sky, still comfy weather, water temp was low 40s. Appreciate Mr. Nix dropping by and offer to help launch and retrieve the boat. Little tricky launching and retrieving the club boat given the water is at least 2ft low plus the drop is exposed but still manageable. Started with my usual bait rotation Rage Swimmer/HardKnocker/OneKnocker/Crankbait/Chatterbait/Senko, first fish was on Rage Swimmer but fish were not hitting it consistently, caught few on crankbait and hardknocker too but not consistent. OneKnocker was irresistible in Rayburn Red, it was subtle bite in the morning and got harder as the day warms up, and consistent. The fish were everywhere north of the islands in 5 to 7ft of water and south of the mddle islands in 4 to 5ft of water. The area between the islands in the middle of the lake held plenty of fish too in 5 to 6ft of water. Caught 35 for the day, mostly 1.5-2.5lb and 5 culled. There were few 3+ pounder frame fish but were skinny. The 2 pounder were biting in the morning, didn’t see dinks in the morning and only after lunch break the 1 pounder started biting.
