This lake has a very large dam on it suggesting it might be a fairly deep lake.  But without a depth finder, was limitied to fishing the shorelines and obvious structure.  Started at first light and worked the shore where the boat is located towards the damn and then around the lake to submerged islands and points with vegetation.  The bite didn’t start until 8:30 ish.  Bite was fairly consistent the remainder of the morning.  When a bait produced fish it was not consistent so had to keep trying different batits.  The best bite was on a Pop R followed by Orange/Green Craw rigged Texas style, Bass Assassin and Frog.  White swimming grub produced nothing.  Black/Blue Craw had several short strikes but no hook ups.  The upper end of the lake has several winding channels and most of the fish were caught where the channels enter the main lake and all the way to where they were very narrow.  Fished the open water a little bit with no results.  15 bass 2-4 lbs.  All fish very healthy.

The black lab was very friendly and fortunately wasn’t a bother.  The Jon boat on site is a 12’ Tracker in very good condition.
