Hot and calm even at dawn, adult son & I figured it out after catching several small fish shallow, switched to deep diving crank baits, 12 feet deet in and around brush piles in deep water, caught 5 1/2 lb , lost the bait soon after in tree top, had another same color sexy shad only deeper 19 + , next tree top hung monster 8 lb , had several in upper 4’s , harvest report filed , 101 degrees left at 2:30p for a/c.
