My coworker and PWF member Dave took the day off work to go fishing.  I spent the day before dog sick throwing up but did not want to miss my chance at the Bluffs.  With 3 hours sleep and a queezy feeling I backed down the boat ramp.  

Started early fishing topwater. It was chilly at first light.  No action at all on topwater.  Switched to a dark colored wacky and started catching consistently suspended off the banks.    Changed to more natural colors as the day brightened and warmed up to the mid 80s.  41 bass in the morning.  

I have had power issues the last couple trips out.  It just goes out intermittently for no apparent reason.  The connection at the front of boat to the trolling motor is showing signs of melting now.  Let me know if you know why this might happen.  I think it will be an easy repair but I'll find out soon enough.

Early morning I set the hook on something immobile.  It did not give at all and my index finger took the worst of it.  As I type this report my right hand is bluish and swollen.  I can't make a fist.  I surely must've sprained a finger.

Mid morning I bent down in the boat awkwardly and my knee popped.  Killer pain hit me.  I had a immediate vasovagel response.  I was seeing stars and thought I might pass out so we switched drivers.  I had to lay down for about 20 minutes in the bottom of the boat.  Getting old sucks.  Drove home to take a nap but a wreck in front of me on 205 made the 30 minute drive well over an hour.  I had enough time to eat a sandwich but could not finish it because I still am not feeling right.  I rested and headed back to the lake and was fishing again at 3.

The bolts came out of the bottom of one of the seats making it a fun little surprse if you leaned back.  That was an easy fix.

The top of my right knee is sunburned.  Seriously. Make it stop. lol

Everything caught was around the islands or the west bank. No fish caught in the middle or back cove.  None of the fish had eggs.  

We had to give up about 6 PM because of the power issue.   We barely made it back to the ramp. Thankfully the winds had declined enough.  Paddle assisted super slow back the ramp.  Met Mike.  He helped us get the boat loaded.  We talked about the lake for a while.  Interesting guy.  I enjoyed talking to him.  

71 bass for the day.  Three doubles.  Two 4-pounders.  It would probably have been a 100+ bass day if we kept going.  I was so exhausted and hurting at that point it was probably best to leave.  I showered and was asleep before 8 PM.

Despite the hardships (sometimes that is just how it be), it was a wonderful day on an incredible lake.
