I fished at Ferris - Triple J, Friday 4/23 for half a day in the AM. I did not catch any big ones, but I had a good day.
It was overcast with a slight breeze, about 10 MPH. Great fishing weather, in my opinion. It sprinkled a few times but not enough for me to have to put on rain gear.
I caught about 12 bass by 9 AM, from 1 to 2.5 pounds. I caught a few of them on a buzz bait, cast around the
grass/algae along the East bank. I caught most of them on green pumpkin Brush Hogs, along the dam.
It started raining pretty good about 10. I put on my rain gear and fished for a while, then headed back to the truck to wait
it out and have an early lunch. I got back on the water about 10:45 and headed to the South end, it was still sprinkling a bit.
I caught 2 or 3 more on a buzz bait, close to the bank and around scattered grass. The sun started peaking out a bit here and there between the clouds. Go away sun! Then I caught 2 or 3 more at the back of the NW cove, on a hollow bodied plastic frog fished on top of the thick slop. THAT is fun! Caught a few on the brush hog around the timber. Then fished the West bank and caught several more on a buzz bait. Ended up with an even 20 bass. Most were about 2 pounds.
