Fellow member, David Felton, joined me and Pam in Pattonville on Saturday under cloudless skies, light breeze, and very comfortable temps – how often can you say that about fishing in TX in the spring?! We did a lot of chunking, winding, and walking. We caught fish on lake numbers 1, 2, 3, & 4 – but best quality and quantity was on #2. The lakes are full, clear to stained (depending on the lake) and the vegetation is currently very manageable. We landed 82 total. We had 3 in the 4LB class (we each landed one of those, so that is nice!), 4 in the 3LB class and lots of 2 pounders – and a few dinks as well. Most effective baits were: junebug swimming worm, shad spinnerbait – in fact, that is all we would have needed to carry. David got on a couple of runs of fish on back-to-back-to-back casts with the shad, double willow spinnerbait. Great time – simple, fun fishing!
