Wife and I sure enjoyed our mini-vacation day at the spectacular Signal Ranch in Cash. The facts: full pool, 6IN viz, 66F water temp, limited vegetation other than a ring of the “slimy moss” around the perimeter. Cloudy to extended periods of rain – otherwise comfortable temps and little wind. Landed 45 LMB up to 3.2 LBS, but everything pretty much over 1.5 LBS and lots right around 2 LBS. Most effective were deadsticking soft plastic stickbaits in bright (bubblegum) or dark colors.

Bass were tightlipped for the most part and NOT chasing anything at all. Only bites were right on the shoreline (land baits on the bank and slither them in was best – but you have to finagle through the slime). Bites were VERY subtle. Presumably bed fish, just carrying off the bait and not eating. But with the limited viz you could not see any fish/bed activity.

Overall a wonderful day and a privilege!
