Met up with fellow member John Egan at this fine property just after dawn. The lake was calm (66F) with swirls near the bank, so we started walking the perimeter of the tank and it was game on! The bass hammered the black whopper plopper till 8:30am at which time active bite transitioned over to a chatterbait (with a trailer) and/or a trig set up under a bluebird sky. Around 11am the bite began to slow so we paused for a quick lunch after landing 24 healthy bass. Following the break we fished till 3pm and caught another 12 or so.

Bass were strong fighters tightly bunched in the 18-20” range (we only had one bass below 17”) and the biggest weighed 4.1lbs. The bass would nail our lures within 10ft of the bank.

Water was stained with up to 1 ft of visibility and is probably 5ft below normal pool. We had success around the entire perimeter including both creek arms with limited strikes in front of the dam. Empty nest were occasionally seen amongst the fringing subaqeous grass.

Mr. Stanley stopped by and we had a nice chat and thanked him for allowing us to fish this fine property!  By the way we found someone’s shoes…LOL!
