We had an excellent day fishing Malouf for the first time this year. We arrived to calm winds, scattered clouds, and water temp at 70. Absolutely perfect conditions for fishing. We wanted to try and get one on topwater, so we worked the east side thinking the shallow flats may have some fish looking to spawn and be aggressive towards a frog. We were rewarded pretty quick with some smaller bass sitting on a point. A few casts later we had a 4 pounder smash the fly in 2 feet of water. Mission accomplished!

We spent most of the day fishing the shoreline and caught fish opposite the ramp and along the dam. The winds picked up after lunch and we called it a day.
