I have fished this lake several times and for me, it delivers.  In all honesty, I checked the lunar BassMaster calendar, and it listed 3/28 as one of the best days.  Could be all BS but the day was awesome.  I got there at sun and stayed till sun down.  Rained the entire time but worth it.  That's what rain gear is for.  Was in the Hobie kayak so could get around just fine.  
first fish was the biggest at 6# and it absolutely swallowed the frog.  In my humble opinion, the berkley swamp lord is by far the best frog I have ever used.  When the wind picked up I used the black and blue buzz bait and that delivered.  When the wind died down I used the Rapala walking bait, my best bud dr Paul and I call it “fish crack” because they seem to be crazy for it.  There were so many blow ups on that thing.  In a bizarre way, I was getting frustrated because so many fish were hitting it up in the air and missing it or landing on it and so I would side hook them.  Either way, highly recommend that lure in the spring.  I did not see Eric but the property was awesome and I'll be back.
