Two guests and I fished on Friday 10/19. Got on the water about 9:30 and fished until 6:00. Caught about 75 fish all small. The biggest was 13 inches at best so we walked away with a nice mess of fish. Caught most of them on soft plastic - baby brush hogs. We tried a multitude of lures to find the big ones with no luck.
Regarding the directions on the website: from Dallas I would suggest taking I20 all the way to the Hwy 42 exit and then head South as opposed to taking Hwy 64 East at Canton and fighting all the traffic lights in Canton and Tyler. You’ll save yourself about an hour driving time.

Sandy,
Thanks for the suggestion on the directions. I was at Hidden Springs on Tuesday and came the same way you did as well. It is quicker. I have updated the web-site with another option. There are many ways to get there.
We had a father and son group out last month who caught 4 fish over 5 lbs and lost a fish at the boat that was over 10 lbs. They found the big fish bunched up in a 50 ft stretch on the bank across from the boat house. There is some really deep water there. We have harvested over 800 fish this year and over 1200 last year. We are doing the things in an attempt to reduce the volume of small fish to have more fish in the 2 to 5 lb class. Did you remove all the small fish? If so, did you leave them in the basket or take them with you? We keep track of all harvested fish.
What did you think of the new 9000 square foot lodge being built? It has been in full time construction for over 18 months. We are working on opportunities to have corporate events at this unbelievable facility. If you are looking for a first class corporate event for your company please contact us. The lodge can comfortably host groups of 150.
