Ron Dupree and I started on the south bank and had a short topwater bite mixed in with a slower swimbait bite.  The water surface was glass-smoth and the bass were spooky.  Long casts parallel to shore was the only way to keep the bass from heading to deep water as soon as they felt footstep vibrations.  We rigged up the boat and made three circuits of the lake.  In the boat, dropshot was by far the best producer and the fish were mostly chunky 16-17”.  The dam and the north shoreline produced while the creeks didn’t. The longest fish was a skinny 20.75” but several of the 19” bass probably weighed more.

The water is very low but not dirty.  Short vegetation is starting to grow on the bottom.

We can’t complain with 28 bass and good quality especially given the calm winds and bluebird skies.
