Fished this location on Oct 20th from 0730-1130 and caught about 22, all little ones, but very aggressive and fought like much bigger fish.

At first it appeared top-water would work as I got several short-strikes on a Hula popper, but not hook-ups.  I did hook one on a silver/green prop bait.
As on my trip here on Oct 15th, a medium diving crank in orange/silver/black was effective as I caught about 10.  Unlike last time, they also were hitting very well on a blue/green/orange rattle trap as I probably caught 8.  During about a 10 minute period, I probably caught 6-7.

Most were caught on outside grass edges in about 6-10 ft of water.  Not much along the dam or the far back cove.

Too bad this location closes for the hunting season.

conditions:

cloudy
wind: variable but not gusty
water temp: 66
air temp: 64-73
clarity:  4-6 ft
