Property Name : Triple J Ranch
Reservation Date : 04/13/2025 AM -
Total Fish/Sizes : None
Lures Used : Soft weightless plastics

The morning forecast for winds to 20 mph was wrong, as they were 25 to 35 mph. The pond scum and algea was 5 to 10 around the bank with weeds beyond making it almost impossible to bank fish. After an hour or so I checked it in. In 25 years this has been one of the best places to fish in April from the bank but not today.

Dave,

This is a mystery. But many of the last few reports at Triple J have been slower than normal. About 30 days ago we preformed an electrofish survey and the fish populations was in great shape. We shocked up more than 30 fish in a 30 minute survey. Lots of 3-4 lbers and a few 5’s. Densities and weight were right on target.

The algea and aquatic vegegtion got a head start this year due to the extra warm days in Feb and March. The fish are still there. It ‘s hard to get them to strike  with a weightless plastic from the bank in a high wind with little control or feel. Spinners and cranks would only slime up. Fishing from a boat should still be great and top waters and weightless plastics from the bank should be good when the wind dies down.
