Fished from sunrise to about 5:30pm on both Little A and Wild Card. Weather was high 60’s in the morning to mid-80s in afternoon with strong gusty South winds. Water was around 70 degrees on Little A and clear to 4+ feet. On Wild Card it was a murky green with much less visibility (didn’t note the temp). Spent the morning till around 11:45am fishing Little A, and landed 14 fish. Most were around 2-2.5lbs, but 3 small ones and one just over 3lbs. Caught them on a bluegill spinnerbait, electric shad EVO chatterbait, and a wacky rigged SK Ocho. All fish came from North end, South end, or the West shoreline. There’s a significant algae bloom and it is covering the shallow shelf on the East side. I also found what I thought was a bedding area on the South end with lots of fish on it, but they turned out to be dinner plate sized bluegill! After a break for lunch, I loaded up and headed to Wild Card to try to get out of the wind. Best decision ever. I started throwing the spinnerbait along the South end which was protected from the wind and immediately started catching better quality fish and several of them. Once the spinnerbait bite died off, I went back through with a wacky rig and picked off several more on the smaller size. Caught around 20ish fish up to 5lbs with another 4+, and a few from 2.75-3.75lbs with 8 culls plus didn’t have to fight the wind at all because of how sheltered Wild Card is on the South side. Caught 1 nice bonus fish from the bank on a Tx Rig after packing up, and missed a couple of other bites on it before calling it a day. Other baits tried that did not work: buzzbait, swim jig, popping frog (1 missed blowup), underspin, bluegill swimbait. Owner stopped by in the afternoon to chat with me and talk about the quality of fish I was catching. Thanks to him and PWF for these great properties to fish!
