Reservation Number : 43180
Property Name : Steelwaters
Reservation Date : 04/23/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 25 culled, small to very small except 2 that were about 12"
Lures Used : Red worms, top water chad and mid water spoon with yellow skirt

We talked with the owner and found that we were the first to fish this lake from PWF.  We had a little trouble finding the location since there is construction on Hwy 77. The property is on the west side of 77 with a white fence and Steelwaters on the top of the gate. The property is pretty well described as having 3 lakes with the front lake the largest.  The area is very nice and we had a beautiful day, it rained all the way there but was clear for a full day of fishing.

We started bank fishing in the back lake which has clear water and very little vegitation.  Caught a total of 12 culls, some were 4-6” but a couple were in the 12” range.  There seemed to be some deeper areas but we never did get any larger fish to bite.

Late morning we moved to the front lake and started catching similar size fish.  There is more grass in the front lake and not any easy ramp or way to get a boat or kayak into the water so I would recommend bank fishing.  We were using red or green worms, topwater chad and midwater spoons with some success.  However, all the fish were very small, the owner indicated he needed to cull the smaller fish to let the larger ones flourish.

Hey James thanks the report. I was wondering if you had any luck with the crappie and how are the water levels. This sounds like a great place to bring ultralight tackle and have a blast catching.

I am looking to go next week and want to as prepared as possible. Thanks
