During our fish fry yesterday (details on the fish fry in the News and Update section) it was apprant these fish are very thin. There are 4 rules to fish management; Habitiat, Forage, Genetics, and Harvest. We will be addressing all these issues or these issues have already been addressed at this lake. Yesterday we apread 250 pounds of fertilizer into the lake; starting the food chain. Starting today it is mandatory for you to remove all fish 14" and smaller. We must remove 850 fish this year.
Effective today we ask that you write your catch reports on the sheets provided in the catch survey sheets inside the shed. Moreover, we ask that you call our office to report the number of fish you have removed that were 14" and smaller. If you do call after your trip we plan to hunt you down and begin the flogging immediately. Please call.
You may be suprised to find out that this lake is one of the only Private or Public Lakes in Texas that has both, pure strain Florida LMB and Coppernose Bluegill. In my opinion this lake probably has more potential than any other lake in the club. With its massive size (50 acres), proximeity to DFW, beauty, and fish genetics this is a very special lake. However, We NEED YOUR HELP. We need only 10 minutes of your time to get rid of the fish and record your catch results. If you do not want to eat the fish, put them in a bucket or cooler and leave the fish on the bank away from the shed for the racoons or Coyotes. We have been taught catch and release, and that is a good thing. However,we must remove the little fish or we will continue to catch little fish from this lake.
