Arrived at the pond around 1:30pm. Sat with Gloria and had lunch as we watched 3 blue herons stalking the shallows, a flock of 10 cormorants diving for their lunch and a lone coyote hunting lunch in the pasture. I was surprised at no ducks or geese either in flight or on the the pond. The temperature was perfect but the wind had a steady breeze. I started fishing on the dock and caught 4 bass all around 14 inches. I then walked down to the dam and started throwing to the brush piles. In the course of two hours I caught 11 Bass weighting between 3 to 5 pounds. Very fat and healthy fighting. White was the color of the day, tried watermelon and red shad but no takers. AS it drawed toward 5:30pm I switched to a frog torpedo. I had to sneak up as they were in the shallows but very spooky. I caught 3 in the corner near the spigot for the well line. Again very healthy 3 pounders. Just demolished the torpedo. No sneaking up and sucking it down they hit it at full speed. We ended the day around 6pm with our coyote friend still working the pasture. I never made it to the far side and I tried the north end shallow water but no action. Great place to spend a day getting some exercise and having fun.
