We hit the water at daybreak and finally made our way out of the shallows and onto the deeper water of the lake.  Water temps started out at 59 degrees (shocking!) and ended up later that day at 62 degrees.  The fish were really chomping today.  Chartreuse spinner bait next to any cover seemed to draw quality strikes.  Carolina rigging a green pumpkin fluke pulled some nice fish from the central area of the lake.  THE bait to have was a black and blue football head with a black and blue trailer.  Keeping the hydrilla off was a challenge so we swapped over to weightless finesse presentations and they hit that as well.  I had the fish of the day at 6 pounds 4 oz and my buddy caught a 5-13.

We had quite a few 4s and 5s with only the one above 6.  We culled one 11 inch LMB and one 12 inch as well as one HUGE crappie.  The bite really shut down after lunch but it was a great day overall.
