Total Fish/Sizes : 12 Bass Caught
Lures Used : Spinner bait, Chatter bait, Weightless Senko
Arrived at Travis Lake around 7:15am. The day started off really slow. Water was smooth as glass . As good as it looked No luck whatsoever on top water.. switched to spinners and chatter baits . Caught first fish (dink) around 8:30. After this first fish we had a few periodic bites but were unsuccessful landing them. That all changed around 11:30 when we traveled to the far side of the lake. We could feel the temperatures drop while the cloud cover moved in. Storms were building around us on the radar and Thunder was rattling in the distance. The Bite was On!
Landed several fish in the next couple of hours. Included in this group was a 2.78 lb, a 3 lb and my personal favorite a 4.94 lb . The fun had begun. I had another Monster just miss my bait while pitching the bank… Ended up finishing the day off with a total of 12 Bass only 3 of which were dinks.
This was my first time to fish Travis Lake.
Scott- thanks for the recommendation, we will be back.

Nice job. Noticed the cow. Last year when I was there there was a cow over by the white gate. Threw a chatter about 3 feet lake side of said cow and actually caught a 14” bass. Several members have been culling that lake past 3-4 years and it is finally showing g good results. Several really nice bass past year. My last trip was a 7, 5 , and a 4.
