Property Name : Azalea Ranch
Reservation Date : 06/05/2025 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 48 lmb-almost all culls with three just over
Lures Used : Floating finesse wurm, flashy swimmer, shaky head

Wanted to just catch a bunch of fish so went to Azalea Ranch to help them out. From reading about the lake, it needs a lot of culling and that is exactly what I proceeded to do. Got there around 8:30 and left about 3:30. Warm day starting about 73 and went up to 91 with a mild breeze at most. Sky's ranged from partly cloudy to blue bird and visability was about 2-4 ft. Set my goal of 50 and went to work. Came up two short but left when I got a little too hot. Committed to small presentations of primarily weightless finesse trick Wurms (color didn't matter because I used all the mixed up ones I brought except for one I forgot I hid for later) plus a flashy swimmer with 2.8 Keitech here and there. Found them consistently along the bank hidden in the vegetation, especially from the boat ramp around the dam to across the lake.  Happened to see the property owner and was thanked for what I was doing. She said another 8-900 needed to come out so there is certainly many more out there for the catching. Did not spend much time in the shallow end of the lake or really even much time trying the middle of the lake around marked brush piles. A shaky head brought me about half a dozen in the creek bed along the eastern shoreline. Thanks to the property owned for making this available to us.  Really enjoyed my time and hope one day soon, some bigger ones will start to develop.  From time to time though,  just catching a bunch of fish is a day well spent. And for $95, it was that and more. Be back later in the year for sure.

We have harvested over 1300 small bass from this lake in the past 18 months. We just added over $5,000 worth of bluegill and red ear sunfish last month. The lake needs another year or two and 3 lb+ bass will be common.

Thanks for a great harvest. And at $95 a day it's a bargain. Next time stay in the cabins. Maybe the best lodging in the club!
