I fished an afternoon trip today…. with almost perfect conditions.  Started about 12:30… water is a little stained and probably 3-4’ low. The bite was on from the get go with first cast a 3.3 and the second cast a 4.8. The bite was pretty consistent the 4 hrs I was there. Most fish were 5-8’ and very aggressive and healthy. Two words: CRANK BAIT! Never changed stayed with the same crank bait entire time. I had 29 bass and 7 crappie. The largest the 4.8 ..... had several other heavy fish on…. a lot of 16-18” fighters.  Harvested 14 bass and 7 crappie.  Almost perfect day except putting boat in.. DO NOT step in mud to the left of boat ramp… went almost waist deep in mud and it’s like glue hard time getting free… shoes are still there.. to deep to find. Glad no one saw me! But I still caught fish in muddy socks and shorts!!
