Lake is full. Slightly stained w visbility < 2’, which is unusual for this lake where its generally > 4’. Water was a beautful color. Got there super early as i thought it would be a morning bite and the heat would come early. i was wrong about both. As i was driving there i saw this big bright full moon and thought that maybe it would not be such an early bite after all. I didnt get my first bite until about 8 on a swim bait by the old tank dam. I got run off the water twice by lightning and but it didnt last long, and never really got too hot. A nice breeze most of the day. I have found that in this lake if the sun is bright that plastics with some gold in it work well when there is no real pattern; mardi gras, yamamoto 323, green pumkin magic, etc. Nothing bit on moving baits except the swim bait early. After that, i was a tx rig ribbontail worm most of the rest of the day in 8’ or so of water out from the weedline. by 1:30-2 all i could get bit on was a dead stick presentation of a tx rig weightless senko. So I called it. But i had plenty and had a great time and was able to satisfy the urge when a tournament i was scheduled to fish got cancelled.

i consider myself truly blessed to be able to fish this lake regularly. i am extremely grateful to the owners of this ranch, who are always very kind when i see them, and provide this boat and dock, which are so nice and always in perfect condiiton. This is a special place and if you haven’t fished it, you should.
